Improvement of Existing Cropping Pattern Through Short Duration Mustard Variety In The Chalanbeel Area

The experiment was conducted at Dobila, Tarash of Shirajgonj in chalanbeel during the Rabi seasons 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 to improve existing cropping pattern, increase intensity, yields economic return through incorporating modern crop varieties improved management practices. treatments were i) Mustard (var. BARISarisha-14)-Boro-Fallow ii) BARI Sarisha-15)- Boro-Fallow iii) Tori-7)-Boro-Fallow patternandiv) Fallow–Boro–Fallow (existing pattern). Boro rice BRRI dhan29) used pattern. results revealed that mean duration pattern ranged 192-195 days by inclusion mustard. Rice equivalent yield 9.51-10.04 t ha-1 year-1 which 46% higher than (5.37 year-1). Land use efficiency (53%) 9 47% higher, respectively those Higher gross (Tk. 2,80,860 ha-1), margin 169680 ha-1) BCR (2.53) recorded pattern: Sarisha-14)- – Fallow} due high yielding variety mustard (Gross return: Tk. 161010 Gross margin: 86183 ha- 1) area. Therefore, farmers region Bangladesh could follow for productivity profitability where lands remain fallow before transplanting rice.
